                                    Liken Lichen

​Liken Lichen was first created as a site specific installation for Antingham Arts summer solstice exhibition in 2014.  Whilst exploring Mike’s Garden, at Wilds cottage, I felt drawn to the colours of the lichen on the trees. I took several photographs and created a colourway centred on the oranges and greens I found.  

Then I created a variety of crater like forms with freeform crochet.  Whilst I made them, it seemed like they grew, developing a life of their own.  Becoming a new variety, perhaps, a lichen lover’s surreal dream.
